Nick Jacobs, MS, FACHE

F. Nicholas (Nick) Jacobs, FACHE is a former member of the Executive Committee of the Integrative Health Policy Consortium and is a Trustee on the Board of Regents for the Southern California University of the Health Sciences.  He has served as an officer of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine and was a founding board member and treasurer of the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM).

Nick has been the President and CEO of several organizations including the Windber Medical Center, Laurel Highlands Tourism, and Laurel Arts.   He served in senior leadership roles for Mercy Medical Center and the Conemaugh Health System, now Duke-Lifepoint.

He was a co-founder and President of the Windber Research Institute, now The Chan Soon-Shiong Institute for Molecular Medicine in Windber, Pennsylvania, and the Clinical and Translational Genome Research Institute, researching genomics and pharmacogenomics.  He also founded the Conemaugh Heath Foundation, Mercy Healthcare Foundation, and the Laurel Highlands Educational Foundation. 


He has consulted for Integrative Medical Centers at the Atlantic Health System, Hackensack University Medical Center, Parkview Health System, Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles, Dr. Deepak Chopra, and the Block Center for Integrative Cancer Care. He is also consulting for the Department of Defense Clinical Breast Care Project. 


Nick holds Masters Degrees in Education from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and in Public Management /Health Systems Management from Carnegie Melon University. He has completed his certification in Health Systems Management from Harvard University, in grant work from the Grantsmanship Center, and in Planned Giving from the College of William and Mary.  He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, has written two books, and is a regular contributor to his blog,, and several regional newspapers.


 Finally, Nick is a principal and owner in SunStone Management Resources, speaks both nationally and internationally, is the father of two children and has six grandchildren.
